Survivor Advocacy & Crisis Support (SACI) Volunteer

Formally known as Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Volunteer Advocate. MSU students, alumni, faculty/staff, and community members are eligible to volunteer with the SACI team.

SACI advocates must complete the comprehensive 40-hour training before providing crisis intervention services.

Requirements to Volunteer

  1. Complete volunteer application and volunteer interview.
  2. Agree to a criminal background check (ICHAT), a federal sex offender registry search, a Michigan sex offender registry search, a MDHHS Clearance, and a MSU conduct check if applicable.
  3. Complete 40-hour Survivor Advocacy & Crisis Intervention (SACI) volunteer training.
  4. Attend weekly SACI volunteer meetings on Mondays at 6pm.
  5. Sign up for two service shifts a month.
  6. Must be available for a one year commitment.
  7. If you are a survivor of sexual assault or relationship violence, we ask that one year has elapsed since receiving services from the MSU Center for Survivors before applying to volunteer with our program.
