Formally known as Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Volunteer Advocate. MSU students, alumni, faculty/staff, and community members are eligible to volunteer with the SACI team.
SACI advocates must complete the comprehensive 40-hour training before providing crisis intervention services.
Requirements to Volunteer
- Complete volunteer application and volunteer interview.
- Agree to a criminal background check (ICHAT), a federal sex offender registry search, a Michigan sex offender registry search, a MDHHS Clearance, and a MSU conduct check if applicable.
- Complete 40-hour Survivor Advocacy & Crisis Intervention (SACI) volunteer training.
- Attend weekly SACI volunteer meetings on Mondays at 6pm.
- Sign up for two service shifts a month.
- Must be available for a one year commitment.
- If you are a survivor of sexual assault or relationship violence, we ask that one year has elapsed since receiving services from the MSU Center for Survivors before applying to volunteer with our program.
