The Art of Healing event is held each spring semester to showcase survivors artwork.
Spring 2026 Call for Submissions: Survivors of sexual assault and relationship violence are invited to submit creations that represent their healing, including art, photos, music, poetry, written work, dances, etc. Click here to submit your submission to the Art of Healing. Submission deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026.

Survivors can participate in Center for Survivors opportunities in the spring (art workshops, dance group, writing workshops, etc) or can submit on their own artwork.
Any survivor of sexual and relationship violence who is a current MSU student, staff, faculty, or community member receiving services from the Center for Survivors is welcome to submit their original artwork.
Survivors can submit any of their original artwork, including art, photos, music, poetry, written work, dances, etc. When submitting their materials, survivors can select their piece to be part of a live or video performance section, gallery of visual arts, or the photo slideshow.
This event is only open to survivors and their supporters. Also, when submitting materials, survivors can submit anonymously, with an alias, or with their full or partial name. Pronouns are also optional. Survivors submitting written work can select to have their piece read by a Center for Survivors staff member or volunteer.
No, this event celebrates survivors of all backgrounds who are using creative ways to heal.
