Advocacy Services

The Center for Survivors Advocacy Team offers a wide variety of services to support survivors in their journey towards healing.

Advocates are highly trained trauma-informed individuals who are able to assist a survivor in navigating any needs they may have on their path towards healing. Advocates are able to work with MSU students, staff, faculty, and community members.

Some common tasks that advocates may assist include:

  • Offering and explaining reporting options
  • Reporting to the police and criminal justice process
  • Reporting to the University through the MSU Office of Institutional Equity (OIE)
  • Academic accommodations and interim measures
  • Attending important appointments and meetings
  • Housing and financial concerns
  • Accessing healthcare and mental health services
  • Obtaining assistance through Crime Victims Compensation
  • Referrals to campus and community resources
  • Safety Concerns

A Crisis Clinician is available to meet with survivors and co-survivors on a walk-in basis and provide crisis intervention and support to a survivor and connect them to appropriate resources.

If you are interested in advocacy services you can call (517) 355-3551 or you can email the team at general@msu.edu.
